The MTCYR Substance Abuse Recovery Program

MTCYR is unique in that we are a real working (with approximately 800 head) cattle ranch. Through the real work involved in ranching we give each young man who comes to MTCYR the opportunity to learn new skills such as driving tractors, irrigating fields, carpentry, mechanizing, introduction to semi-driving, plant identification, animal husbandry, and all aspects of caring for beef cattle. Our Programs are unlike other boot camps, brat camps, military schools or wilderness therapy programs where there is not the integration of Real Life Therapy into every element of the troubled young man's everyday life. MTCYR Program has a proven 81.3 percent change in most areas of the young man's behavior patterns. Many parents report that they see a major improvement in their son's respect for authority and in the respectful and loving manner of his relating with family members. The MTCYR program includes a very effective substance abuse recovery program.

Our Substance Abuse Recovery Program Works!

• The 90 day (minimum) program addresses the root cause of the addiction or poor lifestyle choice patterns.
• The "S.M.A.R.T Recovery" approach we use has been one of the most successful alternatives to drug rehab and alcohol rehab programs in the country, helping people with drug abuse and alcohol abuse problems become permanently sober.
• We combine "S.M.A.R.T. Recovery" with "Addiction Free Forever." This Christian substance abuse program, as opposed to 12 step treatment methodologies, is what allows us to help young men achieve permanent sobriety.
• We use these Substance Abuse Recovery Programs as an essential part of our Young Adult Transitions Program.

Please note: Our program is located on a remote rural ranch in back to basics, frontier style buildings without any frills. If you are looking for luxurious accommodations for your son in a resort like setting this is not the place to send him!
